As I have written yesterday,the elections for the Yerevan Council of Elders were important enough for Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan.According to preliminary results of Central Election Commission of Armenia,no political party and candidate could receive more than 50% of votes.It means that there is a need to form a coalition.And in order to form a coalition it needs to have 33 seats.In this regard,Prime Minister Nikol Pashinayan´s Civil Contract Party and candidate Tigran Avinyan possess only 24 seats.But Tigran Avinyan´s main rival Hayk Marutunyan from National Progress Party got only 14 seats.

Besides,Mother Armenia alliance won 12 seats,former president Serj Sarkisyan´s Pepublic Party 8 seats,Public Voice Party only 7 seats.
In this perspective,there is a great possibility that Pashinyan´s arch political foe supports Hayk Marutunyan.
Prior to these elections,Armenia did have coalition governments in its history after Soviet Union was collapsed.But it will be the first time a coalition administration in the Yerevan Council of Elders.
However,there were coalitions in the past in Armenia´s parliament.

My impression is that,the election results for the Yerevan Council of Elders was a warning for Pashinyan´s Civil contact Party after Velvet Revolution in 2018.This political impetus creates problems for general elections in 2025.After these election results,we are able to clearly analyze that Russia´s fifth column will be in Yerevan City Council as a fraction.In my opinion,Nikol Pashinyan figures out this reality and it is likely that he will take some steps,otherwise Civil Contact Party can loose next general elections.Nikol Pashinyan is aware of this fact.

In conclusion,Pashinyan´s Party won this election.But he received a signal from people.Hayk Marutunyan,who got second place is also Pashinyan´s former ally and pro-Western political figure.But in the third olace we see pro-Russian Mother Armenia Party with 15.43%.
Interestingly.the forth place Republic Part supports Armenia´s exit from the CSTO and EAEU.
